An Anatolian Odysseia from Troya to Cappadocia

Day 1) ISTANBUL (L,D)
Arrival. Transfer to your hotel. Start exploring thecity visiting Turkish Islamic Arts Museum, Blue Mosque, St. Sophie, Byzantine Hippodrome, lunch at a local restaurant, Dinner at a typical Turkish ‘meyhane’ at Asmalımescit street. Overnight at your Hotel
Day 2) ISTANBUL (B,L)
Continue exploring the city visiting Topkapı Palace, The Church of Chora and time for shopping. Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner at Giritli Restaurant. Overnight at your Hotel.
Day 3) ISTANBUL – ÇANAKKALE (L,D)
Drive to Canakkale in the morning. Short stop at Tekirdag (famouse with meatballs and raki) and lunch at Gallipoli (famause with Sardines ). You way visit the WW1 Battlefields of Gallipoli. Cross Dardanelles by ferry. Overnight at a hotel in the pinewoods over looking at Dardanelles.
Day 4) ) ÇANAKKALE – KUSADASI (B,L,D)
Visit Hommer's Troy in the morning. Continue for Pergamum. Visit the Acropol and Asclepieon. Lunch in town. Continue for Kuşadası. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 5) KUŞADASI- MARMARİS-The Boat (B,L,D)
Visit ancient Ephesus in the morning. Drive to Marmaris in the afternoon with lunch en route.Embarkation on the Gulet and coctails and Dinner on board.
Day 6) The Boat- Ekincik, Caunos (B,L,D)
An early start cruising to Ekincik. Spend the rest of the morning swimming or at leisure. Take a tender after lunch to go to Dalyan. See the Caretta-caretta beach and visit the historical sight; Caunos. See the royal graves on the rocks and have some free time at the town Dalyan and return to the boat through the lagoon of Dalyan.
Day 7) The Boat – Ekincik- Göcek (B,L,D)
Again an early morning start to Göcek. ( The Skopea Bay). Spend the whole day in the charming little inlets and bays of Göcek. You might go into the town for a short walk.
Day 8) The Boat – Göcek- Gemiler (B,L,D)
Cruise through the Skopea Bay to Gemile Island. Visit Gemile Island and the deserted Byzantine Village there. See the Olu denis Beach and the lagoon.
Day9) The Boat – Gemiler- Kalkan (B,L,D)
Cruise to Kalkan. After lunch you may go ashore and take a minibus to visit Xanthos and Patara; two archeological sites.
Day 10) Kaş (Disembarkation)-ANTALYA (B,L,D)
Disembarkation at Kaş in the morning.Drive to Antalya.Visit the Archeological Museum. Lunch at a local restaurant .Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 11) ANTALYA-CAPPADOCIA (B,L,D)
After a short visit of Aspendos Roman Theatre, drive to Cappadocia.Visit Konya and Seljuk Caravansarai en route.Dinner and overnight at cave Hotel.
Day 12) CAPPADOCIA (B,L,D)
Visit the undergtound city, Pigeon Valley, Uçhisar, Avcılar Valley, Monks Valley, deserted Village of Zelve, Göreme Open Air Museum,weaving and pottery ateliers,vine factories.Dinner and overnight at cave Hotel.
Day 13) CAPPADOCIA- KAYSERI – ISTANBUL (B,L)
Drive to Kayseri Airport in the morning to take a flight to Istanbul. Lunch at a typical Turkish Restaurant .Visit the Church of Chora or spend the rest of the afternoon in the Grand Bazaar.Overnight at Hotel.
Day 14) Departure day (B)
Transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight |
