Departure from the pier to experience one of the richest cuisines in the world. Start your day with a visit to Spice Bazaar. The Spice Bazaar is a must-experience for foodies visiting Istanbul. Also known as the Egyptian Market, or Misir Çarsisi, in Turkish, this market dates back to 1664 and is the second-oldest covered shopping area in Istanbul. (The oldest is the Grand Bazaar.) The Spice Bazaar is not only a great place to buy spices, but it’s also where you can pick up dried fruits and nuts, tea, candy and caviar.
Then continue to The Istanbul Culinary Institute for the cooking class. The Istanbul Culinary Institute is a professional training and production center, established in 2008 with the aim of researching, teaching and promoting Turkish cuisine at home and abroad. Combining its educational mission with cultural and commercial objectives under the same roof, the Institute includes a school of culinary arts, a training restaurant (Enstitü), coffee and wine bars and a gourmet food store featuring the products of the Institute. It also hosts seminars, occasional public events (films, lectures and exhibitions) related to the culinary cultures of Turkey and the world at large and plans are underway to publish a newsletter and to support other culinary publications.
At the end of the cooking class you will taste the speciality, which you prepared with your chef, and also a good sample of Turkish wine.
